New MCC President

As some of you may recall, at the Annual General Meeting we were unable to fulfil the post of president. However we are now delighted to announce that Stuart Lunan has agreed to take over this role.

Stuart has been a long standing member of Merrow Cricket Club starting as a bowler/batsman and graduating to a batsman/bowler.

I can remember many a match where the very name Lunan was enough to put fear into the opposition and apart from the famous match at Royal Ascot I can recall an all day match at Wimbledon where a very young Merrow side faced a very strong side. The game was interesting to say the least commencing with Stuart opening the bowling.

Over the years Stuart has captained many a side and has also undertaken the role of chairman. He has always been a keen supporter of our social and fundraising activities.

Stuart these days spends his time watching from the boundary where his enthusiasm for the game has never waned.
